Exhibition Install Notes

reminders when hanging:

Acrylic paintings stored face to face can stick to each other.

Some frames have easy to scratch glazing (plastic or acrylic) instead of glass.

Store 2-D work such that they are protected by another piece that is framed and or backed. They should be organized so that frames lean on other frames face to face back to back. Work should not lean on the face or back of a work, especially if the work is canvas, ubacked, or unframed

Especially w larger frames, hold them by the sides. Tops of frames are weakest.

Check wires for strength- not all artist know how to wire their work.

Check wires for length: Ideally they will not be visible above the top of the frames. Apply enough pressure on the wire to mimic the weight of the art work to stretch the wire and check if the wire is secured to the eye hooks.  Eye hooks should be place about 1/3 from the top of the frame in a section sufficient to support the load.
